Andreas Katsambas, MD

Professor Andreas Katsambas is Emeritus Professor of Dermatology and Venereology at the University of Athens in Greece and is Head of the Dermatology Clinic at Hygeia Hospital in Athens. He has served as President of the Hellenic Society of Dermatology and Venereology from 1997 through 2001 and again from 2003 through 2008. He has been Secretary-General of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (1992 – 2000) and President (2008 – 2010). In 2011, he was elected as an International Member of the American Dermatological Association.
His publications exceed over 360, with an h-Index = 40 and over 5900 citations. He has authored or edited several books, three of which are in English, and some have been translated into four other languages. He has served on the Editorial Board of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Archives of Dermatology (JAMA Dermatology), Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, and the International Journal of Dermatology. As a Member of the Editorial Board of Clinics in Dermatology, he has Guest Edited the issue on Acne and more recently Acne, Rosacea, and Hidradentitis Suppurativa.
