Ayşe Serap Karadağ, MD

Dr. Karadag received her MD degree from Gazi University Medical School (1999) in Ankara, Turkey. She interned and completed her dermatology residency at the Ankara Research and Training Hospital in 2005. She then worked as an Associate Professor at Istanbul Medeniyet University between 2012-2020. In 2021, she became Professor at Istanbul Arel University, where she is working at Istanbul Arel University and Memorial Health Group, Atasehir Hospital. During 2015-16, she was Visiting Dermatologist in Philadelphia and also participated in the Division of Dermatology at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, Camden, NJ.

She is co-editor of the textbooks Retinoids in Dermatology (English), 19th edition of Roxburgh Dermatology (English), Acne and Rosacea: Diagnosis and Treatment (Turkish), Topical Antibiotics (Turkish), Photodermatology (Turkish), and Topical Retinoid (Turkish). She has been guest editor of Skin and the Metabolic Syndrome and Great imitators I and II She holds membership in the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, International Academy of Cosmetic Dermatology, and Turkish Dermatology Society, for which she is Chief of the Acne Study Group and a member of the Executive Board of the Psoriasis Study Group.

Dr. Karadag has lectured at many national meetings and has participated in several international congresses. Her research has received more than 16 awards from various dermatology societies, and she has published more than 240 international and 100 national peer-reviewed papers. She has prepared 150 national poster presentations and written 15 textbook chapters. She is also a Member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Dermatology and SKINmed. Her special interests include acne, isotretinoin, psoriasis, phototherapy, and medical dermatology.
