Jean Bolognia, MD, is Professor of Dermatology at Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven, CT, where she also attended medical school. This was followed by an internship and residency in both Internal Medicine and Dermatology at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She has served as President of the Medical Dermatology Society, the Women’s Dermatologic Society, and the American Dermatological Association, in addition to serving as Vice-President of the Society of Investigative Dermatology, the American Board of Dermatology, and the International Society of Dermatology.
She has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Dermatology and the International League of Dermatological Societies. In the latter organization, she currently serves as Secretary-General. Doctor Bolognia is the senior editor of the textbook Dermatology, which is now in its fourth edition, and a shorter book, Dermatology Essentials. Her list of publications includes over 200 contributions and book chapters. Doctor Bologna has been the recipient of the 2018 Samuel J. Zakon Lectureship of the History of Dermatology Society.
