Doctor Uwe Wollina received his MD degree from Friedrich-Schiller-University, Jena, Germany. He is head of the Department of Dermatology and Allergology at the Municipal Hospital in Dresden, Academic Teaching Hospital of the Technical University of Dresden and Lecturer at the University of Jena. He has served on the faculty of the Friedrich-Schiller-University of Jena. Doctor Wollina had received research grants for internships from the dermatology departments of the universities of Cologne, Dresden, and Palermo, Italy. In 2015, he became a Professore e Contratto at the Università degli Studi Guglielmo Marconi, Rome, Italy, for Dermatology.
His sub-specializations are allergology, dermatopathology, and environmental medicine. He has received the Certificate of Appreciation in 2014 from the International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS), an honorary degree from the Sofia Faculty of Medicine in Bulgaria, and the Diploma Associatio Medicorum Bohemicum J.E. Purkyne & Societas de Dermatovenereologica Bohemia.
Doctor Wollina’s dermatology interests include dermatosurgery, dermato-oncology, rosacea, acne inversa, nail diseases, and esthetic medicine. He is a member of the International Academy of Cosmetic Dermatology, the European Society of Cosmetic and Aesthetic Dermatology, the International Society of Dermatology, the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, the German Society of Dermatology, the German Society of Oncology. He is an Honorary Member of the Indian Society of Cosmetic Dermatology and the Jordanian Dermatological and Venerological Society.
His list of publications approaches 1800 contributions and 140 chapters or books. He is Editor-in-Chief of Psoriasis: Targets and Therapies; Cosmetic Medicinem and Clinical Medical Investigations and former Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Wound Healing. He serves on the Editorial Board of the American Journal of Clinical Dermatology, Acta Dermatovenerologica Alpina, Pannonica et Adriatica, Journal der Deutschen Dermatologischen Gesellschaft (JDDG), Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, Journal of Cutaneous and Aesthetic Surgery, Der Hautarzt, Indian Journal of Dermatology, Indian Dermatology Online Journal, Mikologia Lekarska, Przeglad Dermatologiczny/Dermatology Review, Skin Appendages Disorders, and Our Dermatology Online Journal.
