Maria M (Lina) Tsoukas MD, PhD, is Associate Professor of Dermatology, Residency Program Director, and Department Head at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago (UIC). She received her MD and PhD degrees from the University of Athens Medical School in Athens. Doctor Tsoukas then pursued her research fellowship at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA and continued her clinical training with a combined medical-surgical internship at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital –Tufts, a dermatology residency at Roger Williams Medical Center-Boston University Program in Providence, RI. At the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Hanover, NH, she pursued a clinical fellowship in procedural dermatology. She is Board Certified in Dermatology in USA and Greece. She specializes in medical and surgical dermatology, cutaneous laser surgery, and aesthetics.

Doctor Tsoukas’ clinical and research work is focused on skin cancer, high risk cancer patients, chronic immunosuppression, transplant patients, and field cancerization therapies including photodynamic therapy. At UIC. she has initiated a multidisciplinary approach in mole monitoring and mapping, skin care in neurocutaneous syndromes, surgical dermatology, cutaneous laser surgery, and cosmetic dermatology. Doctor Tsoukas is committed to finding for each patient just the right solution, assuring the best possible outcomes. In addition to English, she speaks her native Greek, as well as German.
