Nanette B. Silverberg, MD is Chief of Pediatric Dermatology for Mt Sinai Health Systems, Site Director of Pediatric and Adolescent Dermatology for Mt Sinai West, St. Luke’s, and Beth Israel hospitals in New York. She is Clinical Professor of Pediatrics and Dermatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt Sinai and formerly Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Doctor Silverberg trained in both Pediatrics and Dermatology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. Following her year as Chief Resident in Dermatology, she spent an additional year as Fellow in Pediatric Dermatology at the Children’s Memorial Hospital of Chicago of the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University.
Her clinical work has focused on pediatric skin disease. Doctor Silverberg has published over 200 contributions, with more than three dozen publications and chapters on the topics of pediatric inflammatory skin disease, especially vitiligo, pediatric contact allergy, and atopic dermatitis. In her nearly two decades of clinical experience, she has written and conducted research on a variety of significant dermatologic topics that affect children including such inflammatory skin disorders as atopic dermatitis, vitiligo, and psoriasis and such viral entities as molluscum contagious and warts.
Doctor Silverberg is Senior Associate Editor of Cutis and a Member of the Board of Vitiligo Support International. She has been the recipient of multiple teaching awards and has been cited by Castle Connelly and the New York Times as a Super Doctor. For Clinics in Dermatology, she has guest edited issues on Atopic Dermatitis and Pediatric Dermatology.
