Argentina is a country spreading over a 2,780,400-km2

area located in the South American continent. From an epidemiological viewpoint,
in this country leprosy is a regional problem,

especially in the northeastern region bordering highly endemic countries such as
Paraguay and Brazil. In only 12 of 22 provinces in Argentina is the disease prevalent.
